The shooting took place after police stopped Luis Felipe Hernandez Castillo from writing on a wall "this government of criminals". It's sad this took place, especially because that used to be a subway stop I used in Mexico City O.o

World Event #5

Oddly enough, a tornado hit northeastern Argentina. A lot damage was caused by the tornado and killed ten people. The Misiones Province Gov. Maurice Closs stated how this was an uncommon catastrophe. I think it was an odd event because tornados never really hit that area, they were not prepared for it.

world Event #4 9/17/2009

Sadly in Berlin, Germany an 18 year old with an ax, 2 knives, and 3 Molotov cocktails attacked a school. Nine kids were harmed and two hurt badly. The attacker started a fire, got shot, and was arrested by police. I think its sad how these kind of things still happen.

World Event #2 9/15/09

124 law officials in Hidalgo have been arrested in Mexico for suspicion of helping the Zetas drug cartel in Mexico.  I think this is great news because it is about time those officials who supposedly help enforce the government and instead go and make things worse for the country are getting arrested. The Zetas have been a big problem for both Mexico and the U.S , especially with drugs and kidnapping people.

World Event #1 9/14/09

9/14/09    11:20pm

I read an article on ccn.com that was about a Pakistan recruiting female fighter pilots. The women in the article is named Gul and she talks about gaining more equal opportunities and treatments like men.  What I found interesting was how some of the women wear hijabs and others fly without them. I think it is a good advancement for Pakistan.
