World Event #55 FOR 11/8/09
On November 8 the Dalai Lama visited a region of India close to Tibet that is claimed by China. In the mountainous state of Arunachal Pradesh at Tawang, thousands showed up to see the Dalai Lama. The area has been known since 1962 as an "integral" part between China and India. The Dalai Lama is viewed by China as a a separatist. http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/11/08/india.dalai.lama.visit/index.html
